We always dreamt of trees and birds in the cracks of the city, of having people over, of being lucky enough to have a sanctuary to take care of and share.

We built the Cardinal Club in our backyard in New York's East Village, and now we have trees and herbs and vegetables whose colors we follow throughout the seasons. There is one table, some chairs, a bench. Plants around. Our space is secluded and intimate. Paula grew up around South America, and her long family dinners on the patio with breezes, conversation and casual reverence are our main inspiration.

We are open 7 nights a week for dinner, with brunch offered on Sundays. Our menus change daily, according the crests of the seasons. Over 10 years of cooking in New York, Simon has built lasting relationships with local farms and purveyors of kindred spirits to supply the majority of seasonal produce, meat, fish and dry ingredients. All breads, pastas and accoutrements are prepared in-house. Everything you will eat is hand-selected and cared for according to an elemental respect.

The Club aims to provide a singular dining experience with superb food, comfort, atmosphere and tranquility. We like to fill the night with music and light, celebrating the Club's doors swinging open evening after evening.

Please come and enjoy a night at the Club for soothing and surprising flavors, for stillness and celebration. We prepare a special meal for you. You are welcome to come, enjoy, and let time drift. Please have a look at past menus and visit our reservations page to plan a night with us. - S&P at the CC
